Job description: Intern/Co-Op will contribute to a fast-paced growing team in the Facility Engineering department and will perform tasks both independently and by working closely with team members to ensure that objectives are met.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform energy efficiency and energy conservation studies at industrial and commercial manufacturing sites throughout New England;
  • Work with energy engineers to identify energy savings opportunities, and calculate energy savings, cost savings, and simple payback from implementation of measures;
  • Review utility data and data generated from on-site data loggers. Analyze the data and generate energy usage metrics and trends;
  • Utilize energy modelling software and energy efficiency calculation tools;
  • Assist with conducting compressed air generation and leak studies at industrial manufacturing facilities. Calculate savings from compressed air improvements and generate written reports to identify savings;
  • Prepare written reports to document energy savings opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and industry experts within the Facility Engineering division;
  • May assist in preparation of proposal estimates of time and expense required to complete the project; and
  • Performs other related work as apparent or as assigned and performs all such work in a safe manner, consistent with the firm’s policies and procedures.

Education and Skills Required:

  • Junior, Senior, or Graduate student in Electrical, Mechanical, or Chemical Engineering;
  • Participation in an Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) is a plus
  • Must be a team player and possess a collaborative attitude;
  • 3.0 GPA or higher;
  • Sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals;
  • Excellent communication, writing, and computer skills;
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to change;
  • Be self-motivated;
  • Prior internship and/or related engineering experience are a plus.
