We have an exciting opportunity for a 1st Line IT Technician to play a key role in the IT support team at our leading independent day school in the heart of Oxford. You will also be part of a wider group of GDST schools and Head Office with a very active and supportive IT community.

You will be the first point of contact in providing technical support and advice to staff and students as well as supporting a wide range of activities and events across three school sites. To be successful in the role you will need to be a proactive flexible problem solver with a keen desire to learn, and possess great social and communication skills.

A working knowledge of computers and troubleshooting is essential any further skills training can be provided on the job if required.

You will therefore be part of an ever-changing technological landscape full of learning and professional development opportunities. You will have the opportunity to work on trust wide projects contribute to policies and procedures and work with a wide variety of enterprise class technologies including

  • Microsoft SCCM
  • Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy
  • Microsoft Hyper-V
  • Mobile Device Management (MDM) systems
  • Chrome OS, Windows, iOS and macOS devices
  • Enterprise wireless and VOIP systems
  • Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace
  • Enterprise anti-virus and endpoint protection
  • Data backup and recovery systems
  • Print management and accounting systems (e.g. Papercut)
  • IT Helpdesk Management Systems
