About Us: Join MAF UK, a unique Christian charity committed to transforming lives through aviation and technology. As a Research and Small Trusts Executive, you’ll play a pivotal role in our Philanthropy & Partnerships team, contributing to our mission to serve isolated communities in need.

Role Overview: You will be accountable to the Relationship Manager. Your primary responsibility will be to lead the ongoing prospect research program for new high-value grant-making trusts and individual donors. You’ll also establish and nurture long-term relationships with smaller trusts, contributing to MAF UK’s fundraising success.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Data Analysis:

  • Implement the yearly research plan, identifying new prospects and researching charitable trusts and high net worth individuals.
  • Conduct ongoing research on identified prospects to align with MAF’s funding priorities.
  • Review and categorise existing portfolios, ensuring alignment with relationship categories.
  • Produce high-quality research documents and utilise reporting software to track KPIs.

Relationship Executive:

  • Actively fundraise by managing a portfolio of smaller trusts, contributing to an annual target of £500,000.
  • Develop and maintain knowledge of projects available for funding, support mailing plans, and send detailed fundraising proposals.
  • Provide regular report backs to donors, maintaining accurate records on MAF UK’s CRM.

Data Protection:

  • Ensure compliance with UK Data Protection legislation, GDPR, and fundraising regulations.
  • Monitor internal data practices, stay informed on changes in the fundraising data protection landscape, and suggest process improvements.

Programme Data & Information Gathering:

  • Gather information on humanitarian news, program updates, and partner details for the team’s use.
  • Build relationships with communication teams and gather data on specific MAF aircraft for donor reports.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree or equivalent education.
  • Proven experience in producing quality written work.
  • Recent experience in data skills, including knowledge of UK data protection legislation, GDPR, and Fundraising Code of Practice.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Fundraising training.
  • Experience in a Christian organisation or charity/fundraising environment.
  • Research experience.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Efficient and organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications.
  • Strong communication skills within a cross-functional team environment.

Terms and Conditions:

  • Location: This role is base at the MAF UK Offices in Folkestone, Kent. We welcome hybrid working in line with our

, the needs of the business, the requirements of the role and your location. This will be discussed at interview. * Working Hours: At least 36 hours per week, with 1 hour for lunch daily unpaid. Hours should be agreed with line manager.

  • Annual Leave: Annual leave entitlement of 22 days per year plus the Christmas/New Year office closure and 8 paid public holidays per year.
  • Pension Scheme: Non-contributory (10% of salary).
  • Probation and Notice Period: 3 months each.
  • Salary: Grade 4, Specialist £35,950 per annum
