SALARY: £20,830-21,777 PER ANNUM
GRADE RANGE 1/2 (SPINE POINT 2-5)

We are seeking a Food Technician to work in the Food Preparation and Nutrition Department, joining a team of three teachers. This position would suit a candidate who is used to being on their feet for an extended period of time, who is physically fit and able to manage the manual elements of the role, and someone who is proactive, able to use their own initiative and who thrives in a busy, fast-paced environment.
The successful applicant will be responsible for calculating and shopping for ingredients (via shops and online orders), weighing ingredients for practicals, supporting the teachers in practical lessons including loading and unloading equipment from dishwashers, helping students to clean down and putting equipment away. Other duties include maintaining equipment and records, such as fridge temperature checks, and photocopying resources.
Experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage, as would some knowledge of food preparation – but is not essential.
The school is a short walk from Upminster station where Overground and Underground services are available; these connect to central London (Fenchurch Street), Romford and all District Line destinations. The school is also a short drive from the M25, A12 and A13.
