Job Description

Job title: Environmental Consulting Lead

Company: Stantec

Job description: Redefine your personal best.

Are you looking for a new challenge where you can take on real responsibility for growing environmental consulting services across the island of Ireland?

Our Environmental Consulting team have been growing consistently over the last few years and we now have more than 400 Environment sector professionals delivering for clients across the UK and Ireland. Part of the next stage of our growth is to appoint an Environmental Lead for the island of Ireland – to be part of our UK & Ireland Environmental Consulting leadership group and to work collaboratively with local leaders to further grow our Environmental Consulting teams.

As Environmental Lead for Ireland, you will oversee a wide range of environmental and inter-disciplinary projects; using your experience to help drive forward our technical agenda in response to the climate emergency, pursuit of net zero carbon outcomes, and delivering social value. You will work with local Stantec leaders to raise the Environmental Consulting team’s profile across Ireland – maintaining existing, and developing new, relationships with clients within the local market.

Our broad-based growth means that you will have the opportunity to support projects across multiple sectors, including regulated water, energy, and transportation. Our client-focused and result-driven approach means that we benefit from significant repeat business, but we also have an ambitious growth strategy that you will help us achieve. Our aim is to create valued solutions for our clients and to become indispensable to their future plans.

This is a role covering the island of Ireland but with close links to Environmental Consulting teams across the UK and Ireland. The role can be based from our Belfast or Dublin offices, with hybrid working allowing for a mix of home- and in-office working. As our teams operate across the UK and Ireland, there is an expectation of some travel being required for internal and client meetings when required.

An important part of the role will be leading the growth of our teams within Ireland – including developing and retaining our existing team members and working with our in-house recruitment team to implement a recruitment strategy that will help further grow our teams.

About You

This role will suit a candidate who relishes a diverse workload, who can drive highly innovative solutions for clients, and who has experience working collaboratively to deliver shared goals.

You will have excellent technical knowledge and understanding of an environmental technical area, such as EIA, ecology, archaeology, water resources planning, hydrogeology or ground assessment. The ability to manage projects and mentor and develop junior team members is an important part of the development and growth of our teams.

As well as technical excellence, you will have the combination of entrepreneurial and commercial flair that will help us further grow our teams within a collaborative and supportive environment. You should also have a good understanding of the overall environmental consulting market across the island of Ireland.
