Job description: We have a new job vacancy for a Senior Dry Sow Pig Stockperson on a farm in Devon (EX9).
The progressive pig business requires a senior dry sow pig stockperson to join their team on their 1700 sow breeding-to-weaning unit.
The ideal candidate must have good pig knowledge, self-motivation and drive, and a proven successful people management track record.
Primary responsibilities on their weekly system will involve dry sow work, serving, and farming house tasks as required.
We are specifically looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Excellent attention to detail and diligence
- Good sow husbandry skills
- High passion for welfare
- Self-driven attributes
- Responsibilities will include night checks and stepping up to support the manager when needed
This position would give the successful applicant an excellent opportunity to extend their experience in the pig sector with the potential to progress within the business.
Salary Guide: £30,000 + (DOE) plus housing.
Hours: 7 am – 5 pm, plus 10 hours over the weekend every other weekend.
