About the role:
As a Lead Product Designer your role is to meet the diverse needs of our users by making sure they have the best experience across our products. You will work closely with engineers, product experts and the wider multidisciplinary team to craft end-to-end journeys that help customers achieve their goals – from finding the right savings product, to setting up their new business.
Working in Financial Services you have an opportunity to work across 3 large brands, in a rapidly moving business area, owning design and feeding into business/product strategy.
You’ll be working through design problems from start to finish, translating research, analytics and business insights into ideas that become new products and features, as well as designing detailed user journeys and the interactions needed to make them viable. What you will be doing:
- Working with the head of product to feed into and implement product strategy on key projects. Utilising your strong understanding of what drives a business forward and working with business leaders on how to translate this into design strategy
- Ideating through sketching, creating prototypes and creating high quality mockups, and knowing how to best test and validate your designs through user research and product testing
- Line management of one direct report, and coaching internal product designers to unlock potential, grow their expertise and lead by example by modelling being a “Learn it all”
- Using your inquisitive mind to solve problems and challenges in order to develop simple and usable products. Working at a dynamic pace across multiple projects whilst ensuring high quality of your work
- Working closely within a multidisciplinary team of engineers, product managers and analysts, whilst enabling and empowering the wider team through knowledge sharing, process ideation and strong documentation
- Collaborating with the wider design community to leverage brand expertise, elevating our quality of excellence and continuously improving our design processes and principles, fostering a strong culture of empowered ownership over the customer experience
A flavour of what the team has done this year:
- Rethinking and redesigning our SEO pages and journeys from the ground up with a focus on user-centricity – bringing usability and accessibility to the forefront
- Further building out our multi-brand design system, as we expand our financial products to Confused.com (on top of Uswitch.com and Money.co.uk)
- Using product-centric design processes to reevaluate our PPC journeys and products, creating tangible benefits for customers and the business alike
What we’re looking for:
- Strong understanding of how to design appropriate tests to guide design and product strategy, based in analytics and insights
- Strong in Figma, including design system expansion and management, utilising features such as auto-layout and variables to facilitate rapid prototyping and multi-brand design thinking
- Strong all-round product design, user-centred design and accessibility technical skills with an advanced understanding of designing consumer journeys and prototypes
- Excellent at communicating the design thinking and breadth of considerations behind your work and knowing how to engage stakeholders at all levels, in particular by designing and running workshops to facilitate knowledge extraction and collaborative ideation
- A collaborative working style, strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in small group settings as well as independently
