Job description: Management of a financial accounting teams to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of financial accounting systems and processes.Identification and implementation of continuous improvement strategy in financial services including systems.

To provide managerial leadership across Accounting Services functions, ensuring the integrity of financial systems and that all Financial Accounting and Treasury functions are carried out to a high standard in compliance with all relevant regulations, legislation, applicable accounting standards and the corporate governance framework.

Provide expert financial support, guidance and advice to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders in relation to financial accounting matters, financial systems including report production and financial governance.

Represent at a variety of collaborative and cross sector working groups helping shape public sector policy and delivery of strategic initiatives and change.

• Experience of workforce planning, line management, leading, developing and coaching staff.
• Experience of end-to-end production of Annual Accounts.
• Demonstrable experience in a Financial accounting role managing a team
• Excellent knowledge and application of financial systems and related interfaces.
• Knowledge and practical application of financial regulations, legislation and Accounting Standards in the public sector.
• Knowledge of Financial Governance arrangements and systems of internal control
• Experience of implementing change in processes and systems

This role sits in a well established team within a Public Service responsible for the delivery of front line services across Central Scotland. This opportunity offers scope to develop and implement strategic change initiatives and continuous improvement.
