Job Description

Contract Type: Fixed term 12th February – 31st December 2024

Role 1: 38.75 hours/week

Role 2: 8 hours/week

Working Pattern: 

Role 1: Monday-Friday, 14:00-22:15

Role 2: Sunday, 08:45-17:15

Salary: Grade £22,214 – £23,144 per annum, (£12.17 – £12.68 per hour)

Role 1 attracts an unsociable hours allowance top up for a portion of the time

Sport & Physical Activity is the department of the University of Sheffield that manages all aspects of sport, including facilities and related services. The facilities include 170 station gym, strength and conditioning room, squash courts, sports hall, fitness class studios and extensive outdoor pitch provision (at Goodwin Sports Centre and Norton Sports Park).

Welcome Ambassador

This role presents an opportunity for someone who enjoys working front of house, We are moving to a new way of working, embracing technology and will be asking the Welcome Ambassadors to introduce and support customers using payment kiosks and online booking processes as well as welcoming customers, answering general enquiries, taking payments and sign posting to activities. We are looking for someone with bundles of enthusiasm, excellent interpersonal skills, who enjoys communicating with customers and staff.
