Job description: Head of Accounting – £55,000 – £65,000 + benefits – Theale, Berkshire (Hybrid)

FryerMiles is partnering with an industry leading services organisation with a European presence near Theale, Berkshire, who are recruiting for a UK Head of Accounting. Reporting to the CFO, the successful candidate will work closely on the company accounting and financial processes and various internal projects related to process improvement, optimisation, ERP implementation and digitalisation.

The main tasks and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the documents processing and reconciliation
  • Managing the GL and production of month end management accounts
  • Work closely with the operations team in order to reconcile the project accounts
  • TR, TP, intercompany, balance sheet and GL reconciliation
  • VAT submissions and bookkeeping
  • Assisting with internal and external audits

Requirements:

  • Qualified Accountant or Qualified by Experience
  • Proven team management experience of at least 6 direct reports
  • Strong people management experience
  • Self driven with strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Managing multiple tasks in an organised and efficient way
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight timelines and to act on own initiative

Our client seeks an accomplished qualified finance professional with a strong technical and practical background. Ideally having worked in a similar business with a hands on approach. You will possess excellent team management experience along with an inquisitive mindset and the ability to take ownership of problems and seek to propose solutions.
