ACCOUNTING SERVICES MANAGER, READING

As a national team, UK Accounting Services has a diverse offering, ranging from bookkeeping, to compilations, to preparing accounts for audit. From start-ups right through to taking a client to the point of audit, our portfolio is varied and there are plenty of different types of work to get stuck into. Our team is constantly growing and there is a huge opportunity to make a difference.

A look into the role

As a Manager within our Accounting Services team, you will:

  • Become a trusted business advisor to our clients, with a focus on quality and reputation
  • Build and maintain strong working relationship with your team and our client
  • Be responsible for managing a portfolio of statutory accounting clients to agreed timescales and budget, seeking solutions to complex technical matters
  • Oversee and develop more junior members of your team, including reviewing financial statements and providing support and training
  • Take opportunities for wider department responsibilities through training, new projects and supporting on proposals for new work
  • Constantly strive to push yourself, and the business, further, knowing you’re supported through every stage

Knowing you’re right for us

Joining us as an Accounting Services Manager, the minimum criteria you’ll need is a professional qualification (ACA or ACCA), and experience preparing and managing a portfolio of statutory accounting clients. It would be great if you had some of the following skills, but don’t worry if you don’t tick every box, we’ll help you develop along the way.

  • Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP / FRS 102
  • Experience of IFRS / FRS 101 desirable
  • Experience working in an accounting practice, particularly within financial reporting
  • Ability to work in a team and to tight deadlines and flexible in approach
  • Project management experience
  • An interest in maintaining and developing your technical knowledge
  • Knowledge of CaseWare desirable
