The Insurance Group, based in the London Baker Street office, provides advice on a wide range of issues, including assurance services, external and internal audit, corporate governance and risk advisory, regulatory advisory including section 166 skilled person reviews, portfolio transfers, actuarial loss-reserving and pricing, taxation, solvency and regulatory compliance, management information systems, litigation support and forensic accounting.
The portfolio is diverse including underwriting carriers: London market; Syndicates at Lloyd’s; P&I clubs and other mutual; personal lines insurers; and reinsurance companies; and brokers: London market and retail.
The Senior manager will provide expert guidance on a wide range of Life Actuarial issues, including assurance services, external and internal audit, corporate governance and risk advisory, regulatory advisory including section 166 skilled person reviews, portfolio transfers, actuarial loss-reserving and pricing, taxation, solvency and regulatory compliance, management information systems, litigation support and forensic accounting. This is a client facing role, so you’d expected to be commercial and client centric.
You’ll be someone who has
Significant insurance actuarial experience and who is a qualified Life insurance actuary
Strong technical actuarial knowledge.
A high standard of IT literacy, including a strong working-knowledge of MS Excel and a willingness to learn additional applications (eg Access, SQL, R).
influencing skills both internally / externally
Experience with delegation and overseeing/reviewing the work of student actuaries.
Ability to meet deadlines and strong problem solving skills.
Strong organisational, communication and presentation skills.
