Rockwell Automation is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician Level 3 to join our Manufacturing Engineering and Production team. You will join a diverse team and meaningfully contribute with responsibilities focused on document control of our current processes, assisting with quality testing and set up related to the production of our parts, as well as helping the Manufacturing Engineering team with day to day ME tasks.

The desired employee will be responsible for document control of current and future processes and procedures supporting the plant and product we manufacture in Long Island. You will report to the site-lead. This position includes Engineering Change Notifications, revision updates, document reviews, etc. This candidate will also manage the basic MRB process of dispositioning non-conforming material to ensure the process is flowing and issues are addressed in a timely manner.

This role will also assist the Manufacturing Engineering team in the troubleshooting of production related downtime’s to determine problems in non-conforming electro-mechanical parts, components, sub-assemblies, and systems. The employee will also be expected to use sophisticated data collection tools and programs to collect and evaluate data required for resolving issues, setting routing times, and other productivities related to manufacturing operations. The scope for this role will also encompass cross functional support, being able to dismantle, adjust, repair, and assemble equipment according to layout plans, blueprints, operating or repair manuals, rough sketches or drawings. The employee will also assist in developing methods and procedures to control or modify the manufacturing process, works with engineers in conducting experiments and using test and diagnostic equipment to perform checkouts.

The ideal candidate will bring testing experience into the role, will know how to resolve basic issues related to test failures, equipment set ups, etc. This role will be focused on the systems assembly and testing area, and the candidate will be expected to apply acquired job skills and company policies and procedures to complete assigned tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Key: Manage Documents related to the manufacturing of products at the plant, including but not limited to:
  • ECN’s
  • Rev Updates
  • ISO 9001 Compliance
  • Key: Manage basic level MRB (Material Review Board) Non-conforming material dispositions and transactions
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering team in day-to-day requests from the production floor
  • Assist Manufacturing Engineering team with cost saving projects related to productivity
  • Work with the ME team to establish procedural updates and change notifications
  • Support the Manufacturing Engineering team during plant re-layouts and other plant manufacturing improvement initiatives
  • Work closely with our system assembly techs on downtimes related to testing (laser and equipment set-up), and other test specific issues.

The Basic: You Will Have:

  • An associate degree in a computer or engineering related program
  • Legal Authorization to work in the US is required.

  • Ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Mechanically adept and physically able to climb ladder and/or perform basic mechanical tasks
  • You will know how to own or managing procedures and work instructions related to manufacturing
  • Basic knowledge and working experience with setting up lasers and other testing equipment
  • You will have experience of developing methods and procedures for a manufacturing process with proven results
  • You will be able to perform basic and diagnostic level testing on electro-mechanical components/systems
  • You will know how to create blueprints/schematics per requirements
  • Ability to work in a team setting at a fast pace while maintaining temperament and collectiveness
  • Working experience with lasers and other production test equipment related to:
  • Assembly
  • Repair and diagnostic work
  • Working knowledge of SAP MRP Systems
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001/14001 quality & safety standards
  • You will have experience of creating formal and sustained manufacturing processes
  • You will have experience in auditing practices, such as ISO, EHS, or 5S Auditing
  • Working experience with Management of Change

For this role, the Base Salary Compensation is from 54,320.00 – 81,480.00 with an annual target bonus of 4% of base salary. Our company benefits for the US can be found . Actual pay will be based on factors such as skills, knowledge, education, and experience.
