This Top 40 law firm, renowned for exceptional service, is seeking a Healthcare Regulatory Solicitor to join their diverse and dynamic team in Birmingham.

Role Overview

As a Regulatory Solicitor specialising in healthcare compliance and enforcement, you’ll play a pivotal role in managing a diverse caseload primarily focusing on defending organisations facing Care Quality Commission (CQC) enforcement and prosecutions.

Your responsibilities will encompass handling CQC matters, advocating at pre-inquest review hearings and inquests, meeting financial targets, ensuring compliance with deadlines and quality measures.

You’ll provide essential advice and support on a range of regulatory issues, including CQC regulations, Health and Safety Executive concerns, safeguarding investigations, police enforcement, and inquests.

Candidate Profile

For this Healthcare Regulatory Solicitor role, the firm are looking for:

  • A qualified solicitor with 3-7 years PQE who demonstrates expertise in managing CQC cases and possesses advocacy experience.
  • A comprehensive understanding of CQC regulations and compliance issues such as responding to inspection reports, notices of proposal, urgent notice of decisions, prosecutions, and matters involving providers in ‘special measures’.
  • Experience in police investigations, inquests, judicial review challenges of CQC decisions, and regulatory due diligence for care home purchases is highly valued.
  • Strong organisational, communication, along with the ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
