Following on from the success of Hinkley Point C (HPC), the SZC Project is a nuclear new build project in Suffolk, which has obtained planning approval and Government financing support. The project is now seeking private investment with a view to start construction in 2024. When completed, it will provide dependable electricity to 6 million homes for 60 years, which along with renewables, will support Britain to achieve Net Zero by 2050.
We now have an exciting opportunity for a Cyber & Information Security Manager to join the SZC project.
The Role
The SZC cyber security team main objective is to assure the levels of protection for digital and physical information that also enables SZC Co. to dispense their regulatory obligations.
You’ll support the delivery of the team’s objective by authoring, communicating, reviewing, and enforcing policies and procedures that underpin SZC cyber & information security strategy and assessing the impact of Infrastructure and Systems changes to the IT and Operational Technology systems.
Your primary function is to support the Site Security Team in all elements of establishing a Cyber and Information Assurance regime, this will deliver assurance of our supply chain engineering systems used as part of the construction of SZC, and eventually the installation and commissioning of nuclear plant I&C systems
As the Cyber &Information Security Manager you’ll review of policies, procedures and processes to ensure that SZC complies with EDF Cyber and Information security policies; liaising with stakeholders, and ensuring internal communication and training requirements are compliant. From a technical perspective, the successful candidate will also provide practical inspection of contractor computers for evidence of malware or other threats, supporting removable media sanitisation, inspection of system security controls and other technical and logical interventions. This will require interface with Tier 1 supply chain partners and EDF Nuclear Services plus supporting the wider site security team.
The Skills
You’ll ideally have a proven knowledge of Cyber and Information Security Systems.
You’ll have previous experience and knowledge of Security arrangements applicable to large construction or infrastructure projects and be familiar with government security standards.
You’ll be a hands- on leader with proven project management, leadership and strong communications skills gained from within the security sector.
You’ll have an excellent technical understanding of IT operating systems, anti-virus & networking.
Having a detailed and an in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing an Information and Cyber security regime of policies and procedures is preferable.
