Salary: The starting salary is £37,289, which includes allowances totalling £2,841.

The salary is broken down as £34,448 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale £36,864 Plus, a location allowance of £1,841 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.

As a Team Leader for Local Support Services, Counter Terrorism Policing HQ, you’ll be based at Lambeth Headquarters. Here, you’ll lead a team to provide a broad range of vital business support services for the Royalty & Specialist Protection, and Protective Security Operations commands. These commands provide protection for the Royal Family, members of HM Government, and other high-profile figures, and efficient support is essential. You’ll direct your team to undertake a wide range of tasks, from the procurement of goods and services to building management.

In short, it’s all about solving problems, switching between tasks and leading your team. To excel in the role, you’ll need proven experience of managing buildings, procurement processes and Health & Safety in the workplace. We’re also looking for the ability to express yourself clearly and build strong relationships. You’ll be dealing with a variety of stakeholders and inspiring your team.

Key Tasks

The post holder will be required to do the following:

  • To lead and manage the Local Support Services Team in delivering a broad range of business support services to Royalty & Specialist Protection and Protective Security Operations.
  • Managing the delivery of procurement, building and accommodation management, locker management, uniform distribution and escorting contractors whilst working in sensitive areas.
  • Day to day problem solving, performance management and supporting continuous improvement.
  • To provide an interface between R&SP and PSO through attendance at the quarterly LSS Service Delivery meetings.
  • To manage staff assigned to the team and take an active role in the recruitment of staff when required.

This post requires access to the most sensitive intelligence material on a daily basis. Applicants must hold or be prepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) level before taking up the post; with a willingness to undergo Developed Vetting (DV) once in post, if required.

Additionally, this material is of particular sensitivity to the UK and its distribution must be restricted to UK nationals. In approved circumstances dual nationals (of which one element is British) may also be granted access. However, in the event that potential conflicts of interest cannot be managed the post holder will not be able to see the intelligence material and will not be able to perform their duties. For the purpose of safeguarding national security and in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (enhanced) (SC(e)) OR Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
