Job Description

Due to our expanding workload, AECOM are recruiting multiple Architectural and Architectural / BIM Technician roles in the UK. AECOM are offering a great opportunity to join our rapidly growing architecture team in our multi-disciplinary offices. We have offices in London, Manchester, Warrington, Glasgow and Belfast.

AECOM are currently recruiting to join our growing and talented architecture team in our multi-disciplinary offices, and our flexible working approach allows for candidates to be based throughout the UK and collaborate online; with regular travel to the relevant local office that is leading on the particular project design.

You’ll be working closely within multi-disciplinary design teams, clients, and contractors. Experience in infrastructure design would be advantageous, but is not essential.

Our areas of design include: Rail, Aviation, Education, Health Care, Science, and Logistics.

Where you will be creative with your thinking.

  • General duties on a range of projects and design stages, including design, detailing, drawing, contract administration, site inspections, etc.
  • Where and if appropriate for your level of experience, acting as project leader on small to medium sized projects
  • Presenting to clients and prospective clients.
  • General administrative and management duties appropriate to architectural practice.
  • You will assist in the preparation of design work and presentations, the production of the technical delivery of projects including working drawings, specification writing and contract documentation and help in the development of presentations and projects

Specific Skills Required:

  • Must be proficient in the use of CAD. We use a range of CAD software, and training can be given to get you up to speed on the specific software needed for projects we are working on, which utilise: Bentley Mircostation / Aecosim, AutoCAD & REVIT.
  • It would be advantageous to have a working knowledge of parametric modelling software, Rhino/Grasshopper, Solidworks, etc, although not essential. (Training can also be provided).
  • We are particularly interested in Rhino and REVIT experience in prospective candidates, though this is not a prerequisite for our positions.
  • It would also be .useful to have a working knowledge of Sketchup, Photoshop, InDesign, Powerpoint, Lumion and other presentation and render software. (Training can also be provided).
  • Familiarity with working in Common Data Environments (CDE) like B360, ProjectWise, AutoDesk Docs, etc.
  • Creative, practical, adaptable and enthusiastic.
  • Ability to demonstrate attention to detail.
  • Ability to think in a methodical way to design, plan and organize parts of projects.
  • English language proficient, holding good communication skills to present information in speech, drawings and reports.
  • Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK

Qualifications

  • Degree qualification, preferably with Diploma or Masters in a University Course, although the latter is not absolutely essential.
  • Recent experience of having worked on medium to large multi-disciplinary design projects will be helpful.
  • Some experience of various forms of building contract will be helpful.
  • An understanding and knowledge of the application UK Building Systems, Standards and Regulations and construction types.
  • IT literate, with knowledge of CAD software, and Microsoft Office Suite. OneNote, TEAMS, etc.
  • Ability to manage a busy workload and deadlines.

  • ARB registration (or equivalent European or International qualification).
  • RIBA Part 3, or RIBA Part 2 (or equivalent European or International qualification).
