CDM Advisor – Principal Designer
We are seeking a dynamic individual to take on the role of CDM Advisor – Principal Designer. In this position, you will be responsible for overseeing diverse and challenging projects across various construction sectors throughout the UK, including waste and power plant construction, as well as managing Operational Services outages within our client’s SPVs. Your primary objective is to contribute to the delivery of a top-tier Health & Safety/CDM advisory service, aligning with our client’s commitment to excellence and integrated client services.
Key Responsibilities of a CDM Advisor – Principal Designer
- Execute Principal Designer/Principal Contractor duties in accordance with the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 (CDM), encompassing site visits, documentation preparation, and related responsibilities.
- Foster effective communication with clients, designers, contractors, and stakeholders, providing expert advice on CDM/health and safety matters.
- Collaborate with the broader H&S team at our client’s Operational Services sites.
- Contribute to the development of health and safety/CDM documentation for contractors and relevant stakeholders.
- Efficiently manage projects within agreed budgetary limits and timelines.
- Attend design meetings, site meetings, and conduct thorough site inspections.
- Work cohesively with colleagues, maintaining open communication regarding project-related issues.
Qualifications/Experience/Skills:
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, capable of working independently, and possess the following qualifications:
- A minimum of three years’ pertinent experience in the Health & Safety industry, demonstrating expertise in CDM/health and safety issues within construction.
- Proven experience in CDM projects.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent/higher qualification.
- Sound knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation.
- Possession of a clean driver’s license.
Key Information:
- Home-based with frequent travel across the UK and potential international assignments.

- Annual Salary £40-45k per annum
