Job Description

Job title: Material Demand Planner

Company: EasyJet

Job description: Material Demand Planner

Luton

Everyone at easyJet shares the ‘Orange Spirit’, and within Engineering & Maintenance that means working with people who collaborate, are approachable, are incredibly diverse and inclusive, stand up to be counted, and have your back. They’ll support you, and you’ll support them. Thanks to our success as team we continue to insource work, grow, and create opportunity. Put simply, we think we have the best engineering department in the industry!

There are over 3 million parts that make up an easyJet Airbus A320 aircraft. But, at the critical moment, it is that one part that is preventing the aircraft from taking-off that we care about most. With over 500,000 parts transactions a year, easyJet’s E&M supply chain team’s purpose is to maximise aircraft availability whilst reducing inventory costs.

Handling over $250M of aircraft parts distributed across the European network with an annual spend in excess of £150M, the supply chain team manages the complete end-to-end process from supplier selection and supplier management through to the delivery of goods and services.

The supply chain team comprises highly motivated and dedicated professionals who succeed in a fast-paced, relentless and uncompromising environment that affords an essential flow of parts and services to support the operation.

What you’ll be doing…

You’ll be the go-to person for understanding and predicting material needs for a station and support the development of innovative approaches to demand forecasting and supplier management. Using year-on-year trends, historical information, collating data from various sources and planned activities, you will be ahead of the game in delivering on maintenance schedules to create smart alert systems for station parts.

Your focus will be on the improvement and accuracy of predicting part consumption by analysing and refining data sources. You’ll create and track key performance indicators (KPIs) weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually to measure forecasting accuracy.

Collaborating across the business, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of short-term and mid-term planning, ensuring smooth coordination of material demands with maintenance activities. Working closely with planners and stakeholders, you’ll optimise inventory levels. Your involvement extends to regulatory compliance, corrective actions, and maintaining procedural standards in the aviation industry.

To do the role…

This role demands a sharp analytical mind and strong communication abilities.

With experience in a high-pressure planning setting, you should be well-versed in managing rotatable and expendable assets. Proficiency in handling substantial datasets and using analytical tools like Excel will support efficiencies.

Effective written and verbal communication skills, with influencing and interpersonal capabilities, are essential.

Familiarity with AMOS and SkyWise systems is a plus, and a working knowledge of Aviation Regulations (Part 145 and Part M/CAMO) is desirable along with CIPS qualification.

What you’ll get in return…

Competitive base salary
Up to 20% bonus

5% Pension contribution
25 days holiday
SAYE share schemes
Flexible benefits package
Excellent staff travel benefits
Annual credit for discount on easyJet holidays
‘Work Away’ scheme, allowing you to work abroad for 30 days a year
