Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and innovative Textile and Food Technology Teacher to join our dynamic faculty. The successful candidate will have expertise in both Textile and Food Technology, a passion for inspiring students, and the ability to create engaging and practical learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Curriculum Development and Delivery:

  • Develop and deliver comprehensive and engaging lessons in Textile and Food Technology.
  • Align teaching methods with the National Curriculum, fostering a hands-on and interactive learning environment.

Practical Skills Instruction:

  • Provide practical demonstrations and hands-on experiences to enhance students’ understanding of Textile and Food Technology concepts.
  • Oversee practical sessions, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Assessment and Feedback:

  • Design effective assessment methods to evaluate student progress in both subjects.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents.

Resource Management:

  • Manage and maintain equipment, materials, and resources related to Textile and Food Technology.
  • Ensure the availability of necessary supplies for practical sessions.

Classroom Management:

  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages creativity and collaboration.
  • Manage student behavior effectively, creating a conducive environment for learning.

Extracurricular Involvement:

  • Encourage student participation in extracurricular activities related to Textile and Food Technology.
  • Organize and supervise relevant clubs, competitions, or events.

Collaboration:

  • Collaborate with colleagues within the department and across disciplines to promote interdisciplinary learning.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to curriculum development.

Professional Development:

  • Stay updated on advancements in Textile and Food Technology education.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to enhance teaching skills.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Degree in Textile Technology, Food Technology, or a related field.
  • Experience in teaching Textile and Food Technology at the specified level.
  • Familiarity with the National Curriculum and relevant educational standards.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

Expected salary: £220 per day
