Due to continued success, we are working with a fantastic Crewe based manufacturing company with a global presence. A market leader in their industry, year on year they have experienced continual growth since they were established in 1990. We are looking to recruit an experienced Specifications Technologist to join their team. This is a very busy role which requires previous experience, ability to multi task and requires excellent organisation skills and exceptional attention to detail.

SPECIFICATIONS TECHNOLOGIST JOB PURPOSE

To ensure a legally and technically compliant product is produced through accurate customer and supplier specifications. Providing customers with all relevant information in line with their technical requirements.

SPECIFICATIONS TECHNOLOGIST DUTIES

  • To refer any customer complaints received to the complaint’s inbox.
  • Accurately update and maintain records of all UK customer specifications ensuring that customers and internal functions have a clear record of the requirements in relation to finished product composition.

Ensure specification updates are completed within a timely manner. Manage the review and re-issue of finished products in line with schedule requirements (every 3 years minimum).
Organise all finished product specifications on the system in a user-friendly manner to allow accessibility for other members of the team when required. * First point of contact for customer queries in relation to finished product specifications. Coordinate the completion of customer questionnaires as required. Provide customers with up to date contact details, HACCP plans, accreditation certificates etc as requested.

  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in line with technical policies and procedures.
  • Communicate any updates of customer requirements to the Technical Services Manager for GAP analysis and action.
  • Attend HACCP meetings where required.
  • Ownership for the technical aspects of bringing new products to market. This will involve customer liaison, specifications and artwork.
  • To liaise with other members of the technical team to ensure shelf life testing and product testing reflects what is documented in the finished product specification.
  • To be able to provide finished product specifications in a timely manner in the event of an internal or external traceability request.
  • To conduct technical risk assessments in area of responsibility where required
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement. Identify improvements in product specification management systems. Support all improvements and activities as required.
  • Ensure all data is accurately recorded within required timescales to allow reporting of trends.
  • To support site audits as directed by Technical Manager.
  • Ensure information is available for the Technical Services Manager to enable collation of customer KPI reports and react to any trends identified to drive improvements

SPECIFICATIONS TECHNOLOGIST REQUIREMENTS

  • Demonstrable experience or qualifications within the food industry
  • Experience working within a technical specifications toles and some understanding of food labelling and food composition
  • Team Player
  • Exceptional all round communication skills
  • Proactive and self motivated
  • Excellent administrat

Expected salary: £30000 per year
