We are looking for a confident and assertive Technical Services Manager to join our Blackburn & Shadsworth technical team reporting to the Site Technical Manager.

The Technical Services Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining all technical policies and procedures that make up the Food Safety and Quality Management System for the site, ensuring compliance with the requirements of our customers.

You should possess a track record of actively engaging in and leading BRC and customer audits, hold a minimum of HACCP Level 3 (preferably Level 4), and ideally, have a lead auditor qualification or have completed internal audit training.

What you’ll be doing as a Technical Services Manager (Food Manufacturing)

· Implementation of food safety and quality procedures in the factory and QMS in line with the requirements of the BRC Global Standard and Retailers Standards (Tesco, M&S, Sainsbury’s, Co-Op, Morrisons, Waitrose, Aldi, Iceland etc).

· Taking full responsibility for ensuring that the systems and procedures on site are validated and deemed effective.

· Manage, log and respond to all customer complaints.

· Creation and Management of HACCP.

· Arrange and complete the documentation for the site Vet inspections.

· Facilitating and supporting the annual Senior Management Review.

· Tailored services for the retailers as and when required (Gap Analysis etc.)

· Assisting in the development of the food safety strategy for the site via the management review process such as the Weekly and Daily KPI reviews.

· Facilitating product recalls / withdrawals at site and collate relevant documents.

· Management of environmental monitoring programme.

· Artwork approval.

· Attend new product launches trials and meetings.

· Management of the Internal Audit system and issuing of Audits and closing out.

· Supporting and Leading 3rd Party Audits where required.
