Sellick Partnership have been engaged to recruit a Semi-Senior Accountant for a highly successful, reputable and profitable practice in Preston. The business has gone through a sustained period of organic growth recently and as a result they are looking to expand their team by hiring a Semi-Senior Accountant with future progression up to Partner level readily available.

Within this role as a Semi-Senior Accountant, you will be a key member of the team and you will be responsible for a portfolio of clients ranging from start-ups to blue chip companies. The role will allow you to work under an experienced Practice Manager who will offer guidance and support in all aspects of the role. You will be in charge of preparing client accounts, assisting with Audits and processing Tax Returns to name some of the key duties.

Responsibilities:

• Acting as a first point of contact for a wide portfolio of clients
• Preparing and submitting statutory accounts
• Reviewing and completing VAT Returns
• Assisting with the Monthly Management Accounts
• Assisting clients with day-to-day queries

The ideal candidate will have:

• Studying towards at recognised professional qualification (AAT, ACA or ACCA)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build strong relationships with clients
• Understanding of accounting and auditing standards
• Experience with trusts and charities would be desirable but not essential
• Previous practice experience with the desire to progress within the organisation
