Job description: Why Work for us:

The Southampton, Fareham & Havant Legal Partnership is an outcome-focused service recognised for its dedication to improving the communities in which we live and work and delivering professional excellence. We provide strategic and professional advice and services covering all aspects of local government law.

We currently have vacancies for property lawyers (commercial acquisitions and disposals) and are seeking to recruit additional property lawyers to handle an increasing volume of property-related work. One post is fully funded by Fareham Borough Council and will focus on their commercial portfolio but opportunities for lawyers to assist with Southampton’s asset management programme also exist. The role is fast-paced and part of a highly performing team, so requires someone with enthusiasm and dynamism to handle a wide-ranging caseload of predominantly commercial property matters.

The Council has a fully flexible working system that includes majority home/hybrid working (with some routine office attendance required at Fareham and Southampton offices), with adaptable working hours subject to meeting our clients’ needs.

The current salary is up to £55,648 plus benefits which include:

  • Flexi Time Scheme (up to additional 13 days leave)
  • 28 – 34 days annual leave plus bank holidays (dependent on LG Service)
  • Generous Local Government Pension scheme and AVC salary sacrifice
  • Employee benefits scheme including discounts at major retailers, lifestyle memberships, cycle and car schemes etc

The Council is looking for a practising Solicitor or Barrister with good quality Post-Qualified Experience and excellent knowledge of property law. You will need an enabling, positive approach to finding solutions to complex problems as well as the ability to anticipate and adapt to business and client needs and to appreciate risk management issues, working flexibly across a multi-skilled and supportive team.
