Location
The successful candidate will be expected to spend regular time at KBR’s UK base, Leatherhead, but we operate a strong agile working policy. They will be required to travel regularly in the UK and globally on occasion.
Job Purpose
The GSI Communications Lead will be part of a fast-paced, fun team. They will be dedicated to identifying and leading communication and engagement requirements in support of the GSI Bridging Excellence Programme, working to deliver against the agreed GSI strategy and shape its future direction. They will link in with the wider GSI and global communications team to help support delivery.
They will be highly motivated, have a flair for creativity and originality, and be willing to push the boundaries to introduce forward thinking ideas to a corporate setting.
A ‘can do’, high energy approach is key to support the delivery of work. This role will allow the individual to drive new ideas, seeing them through from concept to delivery.
The individual will work closely with the wider communications teams, including counterparts in other KBR businesses, as well as a creative team to support design and deliverables.
They will have strong experience of working with senior leaders and a willingness to support colleagues in respect of wider communications activity, including global communications initiatives.
The individual will become a brand ambassador for KBR, helping encompass a true One KBR (one team) approach to communications and marketing delivery.
Responsibilities
Lead the implementation of the Government Solutions International Communications and Engagement Strategy – helping to engage employees within a portfolio of businesses and its leaders.
Own and coordinate communication and engagement activities in support of the GSI Bridging Excellence Programme.
Find opportunities to develop content for internal audiences that align with the business strategy such as internal stories, interviews and videos.
Shape the delivery of employee events to support GSI messaging and that raise the profile of the International Leadership Team.
Support delivery of corporate initiatives, including the annual employee engagement survey, bespoke global engagement events and more.
Manage and develop the dedicated GSI intranet.
Support post activity evaluation and metrics.
Act as a brand guardian.
Experience
Creative thinker
Outgoing and engaging
Strong experience in a communications role
Content creation, script writing, copywriting and editing
Great attention to detail
Enjoys working in a small team, but is independent enough to manage projects on their own
Strong organisational skills and meets deadlines
Ability to deal with multiple deadlines / organised multitasker
Experience in delivering content across platforms, including new and emerging digital platforms
Experience in working with, coaching and advising senior leaders
Experienced in negotiation and managing senior stakeholders
Ability to work with people at all levels
