• Identifying and sourcing new products and suppliers for the food service department.
• Negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure advantageous terms.
• Reviewing existing contracts and renegotiating when necessary.
• Monitoring market trends in the retail industry.
• Working closely with the retail department to forecast demand and manage inventory.
• Ensuring compliance with all food safety standards and regulations.
• Managing supplier relationships and attending industry events.
• Collaborating with other departments to improve overall company performance.

A successful Food Service Buyer should have:

• Prior working knowledge of owning their category and responsibility of KPIs
• Management of range & supplier base – sourcing the best products and suppliers to deliver against key commercial KPIs
• Strategic and operational expertise in the pricing and promotional strategy for your category
• Generated new opportunities to create value within the category through range, price, promotion, marketing propositions,
• Led, negotiations for pricing, contracts, terms, and joint business plans
• Managed own cross-functional supplier base through Weekly/Monthly/Quarterly supplier review meetings
• Worked within a cross-functional project team to develop and deliver trials and new propositions in hot food/ to-go variants
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and standards.
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to forecast market trends.own cross
