Job title: Fund Accountant – Private Equity

Job description: A boutique financial services company is looking to appoint a fund accountant into its private equity finance team based in the Hampshire region.

The position reports directly into an experienced Senior Manager and will cover a portfolio of exciting and complex private equity funds, offering a unique blend of technical exposure spanning the alternative investment space. You will also get the chance to develop your stakeholder management skills by operating in a fully client-facing role, providing holistic learning and development that is essential for long term career progression.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Reviewing a range of financial transactions processed by bookkeepers and junior accountants;
  • Reviewing bank reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation;
  • Preparation & review of VAT and Corporate tax computations;
  • Liaising with the admin teams to understand client activity and apply in accounting records
  • Preparation of periodic management accounts;
  • Preparation of audited and unaudited annual accounts;
  • Working closely with other service providers such as auditors, tax advisors and lawyers
  • Following firm’s risk management and quality control procedures at all times;

Requirements include:

  • Undertaking an accountancy qualification (i.e. ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Circa 12-18 months experience in a junior accounting role – ideally prior fund accounting experience however corporate accounting would also be taken into consideration.
  • Strong academic background
  • Strong interpersonal skills

The firm operate a hybrid model with the expectation you are in the office at least two days a week.
