Role overview

The E-commerce Business Analyst will work within our consultancy team reporting to the Head of Consultancy and will work alongside the project and sales team to help understand the needs and requirements of our existing and potential E-commerce clients.

You will work directly with clients in discovery and requirement-gathering processes to elicit information that can be turned into deliverable outcomes. You will work with Delivery teams to turn requirements into user stories and specifications and further be able to support the testing of these solutions.

You will have a strong understanding of e-commerce platforms and the e-commerce experience and will be able to provide expert guidance to both our clients and internal team such as designers, sales, and customer success.

Hybrid role: 1-2 days in the Leicester office, 3 days remote or options for the London office are also considered.

As an E-commerce Business Analyst at Williams Commerce, you will:

  • Define requirement scope, and solution specifications on greenfield e-commerce projects, working alongside the delivery team and the client to refine and understand the delivery needs
  • Collaborate with the Customer Success Team to work on defining process improvements and change for existing clients with a focus on delivering value
  • Collaborate with WCL teams (e.g. Marketing, Design, Delivery) to deliver WCL’s programme of client work efficiently
  • Deliver an excellent level of client service – defining and delivering client objectives, collaborating and managing expectations
  • Support our sales team through RFP, Tender, and Pitch processes. This will involve estimating project costs, answering questions, supporting content creation for pitches, working on demos, and attending presentations

You will bring:

  • 5+ years’ experience working as a business analyst or consultant within an e-commerce consultancy or a similar commercial field
  • Expert working knowledge of common analysis methods and tools using both waterfall and Agile methodologies
  • In-depth technical knowledge of at least one eCommerce platform (e.g. Adobe Commerce, Shopify, BigCommerce) including integrations (e.g. ERP, PIM)
  • Ability to lead discovery processes directly with clients with experience in running workshops and 1:1 sessions
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal – engage seamlessly with both C-suite executives and junior team members,
  • A working familiarity with data – be that user research, behavioural analytics or complex product catalogues
