Location: Outskirts Taunton (must drive to be able to get to location)
Salary: £22,800-£26,000 per annum – for a 36.5-hour week.
Hours: Monday – Friday, 36.5 hours per week (8.30am-4.30pm Monday to Thursday, 8.30am-3.30pm Friday).

We have an incredible opportunity to work with our very well established client on the outskirts of Taunton who are currently looking for a Warehouse Supervisor to join their team on a permanent basis.

The Warehouse Supervisor position reports directly to the Head of Operations and is also a key point of contact between the Operations team and our Quality and Purchasing & Supply Chain teams. Daily travel will be required between their sites which are 30 minutes apart from eachother and a pool car will be provided for this purpose. You will maintain adequate stock levels across our sites ensuring that stock is kept in the correct location according to business and production demand. You will also be responsible for monitoring the quality and condition of raw materials and taking samples for Goods-In products, liaising with members of the Quality team if issues arise.

The successful candidate will have previous warehouse experience ideally with some knowledge of stock control and quality assurance. A working knowledge of stock control systems and intermediate Excel skills would be a distinct advantage. You will need to be organised and have strong attention to detail. Excellent communication skills are a must as you will be working collaboratively with other departments on a regular basis.

Duties:

  • Undertake sample testing of all of Goods In products and maintaining accurate records
  • Driving between sites/warehouses to check product and stock
  • Assess all Goods In products and work with the Quality team to ensure efficient outcomes to any issues with product
  • Picking of goods for order fulfilment
  • Relabelling of products where required
  • Take on customer returns process to maintain trace ability
  • Responsible for maintaining the stock in the right locations at all of all sites
  • Undertake regular cycle counts
  • Responsible for writing off small amounts of stock when agreed by Stock Control & Planning Manager following the correct disposal process
  • Stock location maintenance including weekly checks and reconciliation of goods in quarantine
  • Pest control link up with our service provider to act on issues raised by them and staff
  • Development opportunities as the role evolves

Requirements:

In addition to this, they are also looking for the following qualities and skills:

  • A strong head for numbers
  • Full driving licence with the willingness to travel between our sites on a regular basis
  • Forklift licence (or willing to undertake this)
  • A broad set of IT skills including Microsoft Office and ideally Sage 200
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • ‘Can do’ attitude, responds well to change
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good time management with the ability to meet deadlines
  • Proactive and customer-focused team player
