We’re looking to add to our Technical Support team here in the UK, The successful applicant will be fluent in English with French or German language skills desirable but not essential. Provide phone and email/internet based technical support for Molecular Devices products to customers, primarily in the UK and Europe, and work closely with the wider organisation to ensure complete customer satisfaction.

We welcome applications from candidates who are interested in flexibility in working arrangements. This role is office based in Winnersh, UK with Monday and Fridays designated ‘Flex Days’ enabling working from home on those days once training has been completed.

In this role, you’ll

  • Through telephone, e-mail and internet based communications provide scientific solution orientated problem solving capabilities to address customer challenges.
  • Analyse scientific experimental data, IT and mechanical issues with scientific electro/mechanical/optical equipment and software applications, to identify problem areAt Molecular Devices we believe in designing a better, more sustainable workforce.   • Assist customers with Imaging and instrument specific software, including system performance & data analysis/interpretation.
  • Recommend solutions to customer application challenges and the development of customer understanding.
  • Liaise with wider Global Technical support group as appropriate to strengthen collaborative development of knowledge base.
  • Provide office-based laboratory support as required. This will include testing of equipment/customer applications and assisting in demonstrations. Some customer site visits may be required within the UK.
  • Ensure all activities reported/data captured through company business system including administration of quality related issues.

The essential requirements of the role include:

  • MSc. required, PhD. would be an advantage. with laboratory experience (MSc./PhD. study accepted in leu).
  • Basic knowledge /experience of laboratory instrumentation (hardware and software) is essential with Imaging system hardware & software experience desirable, but full training will be provided.
  • Language skills in German or French advantageous.
