LMP Action is a We are passionate about giving young people, especially those from underserved communities and lower economic backgrounds, the opportunity to take part in fun and engaging activities across the entire holiday period, including half-terms.

During 13 weeks of the year, within the main school holiday periods (including half term), we provide a range of enrichment activities including sport, art, drama, and cookery for children aged 8-18. We also involve local businesses and provide role models through our employer partnerships.

Job Overview:

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Food technology teacher to join our team and contribute to the success of our holiday camps. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in working with children and young people, a creative approach to sports education, and the ability to build strong relationships with young people.

Responsibilities:

Workshop Delivery – Deliver pre-planned engaging sports workshops and activities.

Child and Youth Engagement – Build positive relationships with children and young people, fostering a safe and supportive atmosphere. Encourage active participation and provide guidance and support as needed.

Safeguarding – Demonstrate a thorough understanding of safeguarding principles and ensure the safety and well-being of all children and young people in your care. Implement and adhere to LMP Action’s safeguarding policies and procedures.

Community Outreach – Represent LMP Action positively and contribute to the organisation’s presence in the community.

Reporting and Documentation – Maintain accurate records of workshop activities, attendance, and any incidents. Provide regular updates to the program coordinator and camp lead on the progress of the holiday camps.

Qualifications:

  • PGCE (Or equivalent)
  • Previous experience working with children and young people, particularly in a workshop or camp setting.
  • Strong delivery skills.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding principles and practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to providing enriching opportunities for children.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS check (Essential).
  • First Aid certification (Preferred but not essential).
  • Flexibility to work during school holiday periods.
