Job description: We are looking to speak with professional at either a strong Senior or Principal level to project manage and account lead for corporate clients, principally in manufacturing, retail and financial services. You manage the delivery of strategic consultancy services with a focus on climate-related disclosures and the organisational change aspects of net zero strategy. Core service areas include:
- Leading and assisting clients with climate disclosures (CDP, TCFD/ISSB, SECR).
- Helping clients navigate and prepare for emerging regulatory requirements, such as net zero Transition Plans and EU Directive alignment (CSRD, CSDDD).
- Providing strategic advice and analytical services around wider climate-related needs such as GHG accounting, science based target setting, decarbonisation plans, communications and other ESG-related ambitions.
- Working alongside the technical teams to provide a holistic net zero support to clients e.g. considering the governance and organisational change aspects of net zero transition plans.
By engaging with a wide range of key stakeholders on a day-to-day basis, you play a key part in managing clients’ sustainability risks and realising opportunities. You are also responsible for targeted business development and marketing activities. Role opportunity Account management: You maintain strong relationships with our existing Corporate clients and build new relationships to win further work including cross-selling full range of services. Project Management: You manage consultancy projects to ensure we deliver to clients on time, to quality and within agreed budgets. You manage the delivery of our clients’ sustainability objectives and act as confident agent of change to help ensure they continue to be a market leaders in ESG. Technical/regulatory input: You track the evolving requirements of mandatory and voluntary climate-related disclosures of relevance to our corporate clients, such as CDP, TCFD/ISSB, Transition Plans Business development and proposal writing: You identify opportunities for sales and business development, progressing these to written proposals to meet clients’ needs and achieve sales targets. Operational: You provide timely responses to operational needs including invoicing, reviews, project management information, time-sheeting, health & safety, etc. Environmental: You contribute to sustainability targets and internal CSR team objectives when required. What you will need to succeed
- Essential: – Degree (or equivalent) geography, economics, sciences, environmental, engineering or equivalent and relevant areas demonstrating qualitative and quantitative skills.
- Desirable: – Masters/relevant post-graduate qualification
Member of professional institution i.e. IEMA Project Management qualification i.e. APMP
- Essential: Experience of: managing projects/programmes, project teams & delivering to deadlines key account management and new business development with clients corporate net zero strategy and climate disclosures.
- Desirable: Experience of: managing bids and bid teams and delivering proposals to deadlines policy & impact analysis from client perspective leading, facilitating & presenting at workshops, seminars and conferences advising clients on strategic risks and opportunities, such as policy impact assessments or risks and opportunity appraisals completing voluntary reporting submissions
Emissions sources across large distributed value chains in particular scope 3 (upstream and downstream emissions) Energy use in key sectors such as food and drink and retail Supporting SBT applications GHG reporting standards Understanding of UK and European energy and climate change policy frameworks.
- Essential: – Wider sustainability issues and carbon management
- Desirable: – ISO 14001
GHG Protocol Corporate Accounting and Reporting Standard
- Essential: – Excellent programme and project management skills
Sophisticated analytical approach Ability to work independently and creatively on challenging research problems Demonstrable proactive long-term approach; planning & organisational skills High level of competence in the use of IT, including Excel, Word & PowerPoint Strong communicator in both verbal and written formats, including messaging through innovative and effective graphics and presentation of analysis
- Desirable: – Working knowledge of Microsoft Power BI and other Office 365 products
- Essential: – Willingness to occasionally travel nationally and potentially internationally
