Job description: WHAT YOU’LL DO

The Catalog Enablement Sr Analyst is a newly created role and functional capability responsible for maintaining purchasing information within BCG’s core Information systems. Purchasing information includes, but is not limited to, contracted product information (Manufacturer, manufacturer part number, item description(s), packaging string), vendor agreements and contract pricing. Additionally, this role is responsible for managing the order acknowledgement processes and working proactively to eliminate any pricing mismatches, unit of measure exceptions, and backorders. Working collaboratively with sourcing & contracting organization, the buyers, vendors and other key internal stakeholders to collect and update pricing files on contracted pricing and terms and analyze and communicate compliance.

  • Create Supplier Enablement and Catalog Management strategy, policy and procedures.
  • Act as SME/Point of Contact/escalation for In Market Finance and Business stakeholders and internal teams
  • Drive continuous improvement and tracking of escalation/issues/errors
  • Prepare and report monthly dashboards to Stakeholders and PLT
  • Work with Procurement Leads and other functional areas to determine what resources/skills are needed (e.g., accounts payable, legal, category managers, IT) and brings them in as necessary, as applied to Supplier Enablement
  • Undertake analysis on suppliers’ transactions to support enablement segmentation approach sign off
  • Hold 1-to-1 sessions with suppliers to configure and validate cXML connectivity for POs and invoices (where agreed)
  • Work with suppliers to load and test catalogues data and relevant configuration, as well with relevant category managers to obtain the relevant sign offs
  • Ensure contracted products are properly built and updated in BCG information systems including but not limited to item master pricing, catalog pricing, etc.
  • Supports sourcing team to help identify off contract spend opportunities to minimize procurement of non-contracted products.
  • Actively manage vendor and sourcing data in procurement technology and ensuring that pricing information remains accurate. Conducts routine audits to proactively identify data exception errors (price, unit of measure, catalog number, etc.)
  • Works with Procurement and Accounts Payable to onboard new vendors and enables appropriate purchasing method.
  • Undertakes regular data cleaning of the item master, ensuring pertinent information is accurate and current for catalogue and items, including but not limited to units of measure, item pictures, program tagging information, or other data points as required.

  • Drive the creation and implementation of catalogs, which includes collecting catalog information,
  • reviewing and approving the catalog content and loading information into the system.
  • Responsible for administration / maintenance of catalogs for all categories and applicable suppliers.
  • Partners with sourcing staff and suppliers to identify opportunities to automate purchasing.

The BCG Global Procurement function is currently made up of more than 45 procurement professionals located in London, Stockholm, New Delhi, Boston and Munich. This Catalog Enablement position will be supporting our team with sourcing projects on a strategic and operational level.

Scope of work will be global, regional as well as local, requiring procurement experience, relationship building, sell-in capabilities and sensitivity to local requirements. The individual taking on this challenge must possess a very high level of self-motivation/drive, persistency, resourcefulness and a willingness to facilitate change.

  • Associate or bachelor’s Degree in a business-related field or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5-7 years working within a supply chain and/or purchasing environment in a similar capacity
  • Working knowledge of Coupa S2P or other equivalent procurement technology
  • Strong analytical skill
  • Ability to interpret basic Vendor Contract terms

  • Technically proficient in working with procurement tools; Coupa essential
  • Skilled in using XML, HTML and other Web technologies
  • Understanding of Web servers, Application servers and Databases
