Job description: Financial Controller Delighted to be recruiting for a Financial Controller to work for a manufacturing business in Portsmouth. This position is responsible for providing financial control, analysis, and support to their Corporate Controller. Responsible for the preparation and oversight of all Statutory reporting.Assist with month-end close & year-end close processesOversee the purchase ledger and sales ledger functionPrepare monthly account reconciliations for assigned Balance Sheet AccountsPrepare monthly financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAPPrepare Plans and Forecasts on assigned Balance Sheet AccountsVariance analysis between actual and planWork with management team on process improvements and efficienciesResponsible for leading & controlling all aspects of the internal and external auditsStrong cashflow management and robust strategic planningResponsible for overseeing the completion of:the annual Statutory Accountsthe annual Corporation Tax returnsthe monthly VAT & Intrastat returnsVocational/ Bachelor degree in the area of Finance/AccountancyKnowledge and experience of accounting ERP systems and proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook ExperienceMinimum 5 years in Finance & AccountingExperienced and competent in the preparation of monthly accounting reporting.Ability to accurately follow departmental procedures and timelines relating to accounting procedures.Able to work as both part of a team, across functions and on their own initiative, be flexible, and review current practices with the target of improving the department to achieve modern best practices.Maintain effective communication both internally and externally with Auditors, Tax authorities & Government bodies.
