Salary: £40000 + depending on experience

What you’ll be doing:

· Co-ordinating Project Finance modernisation and transformation initiatives across Systems & Data, Analytics & Reporting, Policy & Process, People skills & capabilities and Governance & Controls

· Delivering customer focused Project Finance support as part of the Capability Centre, aiding the Business Unit Project Finance leads in the effective and profitable delivery of customer projects

· Contributing to the implementation of common and consistent Project Finance processes, a culture of performance excellence and “right first time”, and optimising key financial controls

· Contributing to a data focused and digital culture whilst digitising ways of working through the support of implementation of digital project management, reporting and financial toolsets.

· Developing project management disciplines such as project scoping, planning & scheduling, co-ordination of resource and monitoring progress against plans including the overall Project Finance Modernisation roadmap.

Your skills and experiences:

Essentials:

· Qualified member professional accounting body (ACA, ACCA, CIMA)

· Knowledge of the Business Units and wider BAE Systems mission and strategy – internal advert only

· Experience of Project Finance and strong understanding of financial forecasting and reporting processes.

· Knowledge of relevant accounting standards (IFRS / GAAP), incl. IFRS15 revenue recognition criteria.

· Recognise best practice in applying financial controls.

· The role requires an individual with strong management skills, influencing through strong internal networks within finance and collaboration with other functions.

Desirable:

· Experience of using MRPs or ERPs (e.g. SAP, Infor LN, Oracle) and financial reporting, forecasting and analytical tools (e.g. SAP BPC / SAC, Cognos, Tableau)

The FP&A – Project Finance team:

The Finance Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Capability Centre is part of the larger finance function within BAE. Their core function is to deliver best in class financial insights, analysis and business intelligence to drive performance, as well as ongoing support across the Business Unit finance teams. This role is an exciting opportunity to join the FP&A Capability Centre and be an integral team player driving forward our Finance Modernisation programme for Project Finance.
