The Opportunity
Working within the West Ground Engineering team, you will be primarily involved in interpreting and characterising the ground, ground contamination and undertaking risk assessments, report writing and production of drawings and specifications to help deliver projects across a range of markets and sectors.
This role is open to our Bristol, Cardiff and Winchester offices where you will be mentored by senior members of our team in your technical and professional development. Is this role right for you?
You will have a good understanding of geology and ground contamination and the legislation pertaining to the management of contaminated land. You may hold other complementary skills in site assessment and remediating land contamination. Your excellent report writing capabilities are underpinned by the strong interactive skills which make you effective in working in a team in the buildings and infrastructure sectors.
Relying on your past experience you will be developing your emerging skills such as:
- Characterising ground risks;
- Managing and interpreting data, including chemical testing and ground investigations
- Undertaking generic and detailed risk assessments
- Hydrogeology or 3D ground modelling;
- Preparing Geo-environmental technical documents such as desk studies, interpretative reports, and specifications;
- Attending site to oversee ground investigations or implementation of remediation
- Using digital technologies such as the use of ground data software (Grasshopper, etc), GIS, programming, and data processing.
- You will be continuing your development towards chartered status.
