Our Aircraft Services team are currently recruiting for a Merlin Depth Facility Operations Manager, to work on site at RNAS Culdrose. The main focus of the role, is overseeing the day-to-day delivery of aircraft maintenance services at RNAS Culdrose within scope of the Integrated Merlin Operational Systems (IMOS) contract. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that the operational facility, resources, processes and practices are sustained at optimum efficiency to enable the key performance measures. In addition to this, you’ll liaise directly with key stakeholders on the contract to maintain high customer satisfaction levels and achieve contracted key performance measures.

What you’ll be doing as a Merlin Depth Facility Operations Manager;

  • Scheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications of aircrafts allotted by the MoD
  • Provision of working parties to effect schedules maintenance, repairs and modifications on aircraft operating within customer’s fleet
  • Scheduled maintenance, repairs and modifications at component level in support of the aircraft
  • Direct the team based at RNAS Culdrose with prime focus on delivering contractual obligations, aircraft output and customer aircraft operational availability requirements
  • Sustain professional working relationships with all stakeholders to ensure the ongoing success of the operation
  • Maximising customer satisfaction and confidence in our ability to deliver against current obligations and to future business opportunities
  • Manage for ‘Day-to-Day’ Merlin operations at RNAS Culdrose
  • Delivering aircraft and component services in accordance with contract and fleet operational and maintenance plans ensuring adherence to schedule, quality and budget
  • Empower your team to allow them to deliver the services and output requirements of the RNAS Culdrose Merlin Depth Maintenance operation
  • Using timely communication, regular reviews, performance feedback, targets and measurements for your team for the RNAS Culdrose Merlin Depth Facilities Management’s activities
  • Ensuring the requirements of MAOS Part 145 are observed, changes to MAA policy and procedures are observed and relevant expositions under your responsibility remain compliant
  • Maintain regular interaction with the CAMO or Military CAMO
  • Ensuring that all personnel are trained and suitably qualified
  • Ensure all maintenance work undertaken is within scope of the published aircraft data set and updates to the prime recording system for the aircraft and operation is maintained correctly
  • Ensure Maintenance errors and incidents are reported in accordance with required procedures and any follow-up investigations are carried out
  • Conduct tier 1 (department internal) audits to regularly check SQEP and operational procedures compliance. Where required provide support to tier 2 (Company QA) audit or tier 3 (External) audit
  • Ensure that the Customer or Company facility in operation remains compliant to UK law and the policies and procedures as translated from the law by the LH HSE department.

What we need from you;

  • Educated to Degree/HND level in a relevant aviation-related subject
  • Previous management experience with a proven track record of delivering results
  • Ability to lead a cross functional and multidiscipline team to deliver long term, contracted maintenance services
  • Comprehensive and detailed knowledge and experience of helicopter maintenance operations
  • Good understanding of the requirements of Military Air Engineering (MAE) environment and an understanding of the applicable Airworthiness Authority Regulatory Publications
  • Excellent negotiation skills with ability to reconcile differences between individual customers and stakeholder’s competing demands as well as assuring the necessary performance levels from the supplier fraternity
  • Astute business and commercial awareness and contractual practises, with sound understanding of performance criteria and organisation
  • Innovative approach to problem solving, with strong orientation towards the delivery of results
