Job Description

Job title: Community Care Assistant (Mornings, Evenings & Weekends)

Company: Home Instead Senior Care

Job description: Company Description

Our award winning Home Instead Exeter & East Devon team is growing, and we’d love you to be part of it! As the region’s highest CQC rated home care provider, you could be joining a great team!

We’re different. We allow literal ‘time to care’ via minimum one-hour visits. We don’t wear uniforms, so you appear as a trusted friend to clients and the wider community, removing the stigma that can be attached to care.

We consider your career. We encourage you via our fully funded Career Pathways Scheme, and welcome experienced Care Professionals and those new to the sector. Plus, as a 5 Star Employer in Care and Exmouth Employer of the Year, an officially Age-Friendly Employer, Disability Committed and a Menopause Supporter too, we’re there for you.

Job Description

Our Community Care Assistants provide professional support to local community members across the East Devon communities – including Exeter in the west, across to Axminster and Lyme in the east, along with Honiton and Ottery to the north and our coastal towns in the south – enabling our Clients to live well and independently, for longer.

Our ‘Breakfast, Bedtime & Weekend’ team members will often help with daily tasks such as washing and dressing for the day, prepping brekkie and enjoying a cuppa, or getting ready for supper and bedtime by providing a reassuring presence at the end of the day, making sure everything is ‘just right’. Team members also support with (but don’t administer) medication, accompany clients to appointments or social trips, meal preparation and importantly, provide a trusted and consistent point of contact for our clients, boosting their sense of security, safety and wellbeing.

If you’re an ‘early bird’ you could be a great start to someone’s day – not too early though, as our first visit isn’t until 8.00am, and if you’re a ‘night owl’ you could provide the reassuring routine that sees a client sleep soundly – all before 9.00pm.

Qualifications

If you’re organised, can manage time effectively, are reliable and have a great sense of humour, are considerate and caring and are looking for a rewarding role that can fit around family life, we could be a perfect fit.

Our clients often rely on us to take them out and about and to attend appointments, so for this reason candidates with a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle are preferable and are in high demand.

We offer fully funded initial and ongoing training, enabling us to welcome experienced social care colleagues looking for a fresh approach to the role they love, as well as applicants new to the care sector, looking for a rewarding opportunity.

Additional Information

We offer great rates of pay. £11-£13 per hour (from £22 per hour on Bank Hols), PLUS your travel and time costs between clients, are covered.

We value our Care Professionals, offer a variety of full and part-time contracts, provide around-the-clock support from our office team, a mobile data allowance, paid birthday leave, a generous refer-a-friend bonus and a host of other work and social perks.

So, don’t hesitate. We appreciate you may have questions and are happy to answer them all. Contact our friendly team today on 01395 200600 or apply* in minutes via the link.

*We recognise that the application process can be daunting for some, so please, tell us what you need to succeed, and we will do our best to support you.

Please note: Home Instead – Exeter and East Devon are not able to offer sponsorship to applicants from outside of the UK, at present.
