Job description: We currently have a vacancy for a Band 6 midwife to join the Community Midwifery Team within NHS Fife.

Our community midwifery teams within NHS Fife provide continuity of care for women and families during the antenatal and postnatal periods. The teams are based in sites throughout Fife and work in partnership with a wider multidisciplinary team to provide evidence based informed choices to meet women’s needs and wishes.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated midwife who will be responsible for providing individualised care to a caseload of women during their pregnancy and postnatal period. The midwife will be expected to participate in an on call rota for birth, providing care for women in various settings and will be required to travel throughout Fife.

We are looking for a midwife with a passion to support women during their pregnancy journey.

We are a dynamic, progressive and really friendly team, the unit is modern with approximately 3000 births per year. The services include outpatient and community services, a complex care Consultant Unit and an alongside Midwife Led Unit. We are developing services in line with Best Start recommendations. We are focussing on increasing our rates of continuity of carer in the first instance. We already have teams established for birth at home, vulnerable in pregnancy and child protection including a perinatal mental health midwife and bereavement specialist, infant nutrition and smoking cessation.

We will encourage you with your professional development and education via our dedicated clinical midwife educator and midwifery PEF. We have an extremely successful in house leadership programme and regularly encourage staff to participate in external networking.

You must be a NMC Registered Midwife you should possess enthusiasm, excellent team working skills with effective communication.
