Role: Warehouse Partner

Position: 6 months fixed term contract, internally known as a secondment

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Pay: £10.42 – £11.48 per hour

Location: Altens Customer Delivery Hub, Aberdeen

About the role:

As a flexible Partner, you will play a key role both in our Warehouse and in Customer Delivery. You will ensure safe handling of goods that pass through the Warehouse working efficiently and accurately to agreed productivity targets and schedules. You will load and unload our vans, pick and pack the orders for our Customers and prepare these for delivery. You will also ensure that our goods and products are safely stored and replenished. Our Customer Delivery teams are the face of the John Lewis & Partners brand. As part of a 2 person crew, you will deliver, assemble and install a wide range of home furnishings, electrical products and sports equipment, ensuring every delivery is made with the highest level of customer service.

As a driver for the Partnership, you will promote the Partnership brand through a professional and courteous manner to other road users.

Please note that this role involves heavy lifting.

Essential skills you’ll need

Basic IT skills

Strong Communication skills – including telephone skills as well as verbal and written skills

Category B manual UK driving licence (no more than 6 points)

Able to cope with the physical requirements of the role

Desirable skills you may have

Previous experience in a warehouse role involving the movement of caged stock and manual handling would be an advantage, as would working in a retail environment.

Previous experience in customer delivery
