Do you want to transform your career and pass on your Travel and Tourism experience to the next generation?

Activate Learning are now looking to recruit a Travel and Tourism Teacher to join our Oxford College team on a permanent, part-time basis.

We are looking for motivated, enthusiastic and creative individuals with the ability to inspire, so that our Travel and Tourism students have a memorable learning experience.

With your excellent subject knowledge and practice skills you will work collaboratively with our existing team of talented and passionate teachers to ensure we plan and deliver purposeful practical and theory lessons up to level 3, and participate in the curriculum development to meet the needs of changing industry demands.

Our Academic and Professional Studies department has an excellent record of delivering vocational Travel and Tourism courses with employability embedded at their heart. This is achieved through excellent relationships with industry and the employment of experts with extensive professional experience within the teaching team.

This is a permanent, part-time position working up to 22.2 hours per week (0.6 FTE), Oxford City Campus

What do you need to be successful as a Travel and Tourism Teacher at Activate Learning?

We are looking for people who can act as role models for our students and ensure that they leave us with not just their professional qualifications, but the attributes required to progress in the world of work. A genuine interest in working with and developing young people is a requirement.

If you could enhance our students’ understanding in areas such as: Aviation and Airline Industry; Worldwide travel and tourism destinations; UK travel industry; customer service in travel and tourism; tour operators and travel agency operations, then we would like to hear from you!

Whilst previous teaching experience or qualification would be an advantage, it is not a requirement. As long as you have the qualifications to teach on our Travel and Tourism courses and demonstrate the attributes to be an inspirational teacher, we can provide you with the necessary training, development and support to equip you to teach in the FE sector.

  • Level 3 or above qualification and experience in Travel and Tourism sector is essential
  • It is desirable if you have a teaching qualification and worked within education as a teacher, but this is not essential

Your communication and interpersonal skills will be outstanding and support your ability to deliver interesting and purposeful lessons to a diverse range of learners. You will also have strong organisation skills coupled with the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
