Embedded AI/ML- KTP Associate
The University of Portsmouth, in collaboration with TANGI0 LTD, is seeking an innovative and motivated graduate to improve AI/ML systems embedded in human-machine interactions for smart IoT and rehabilitation devices.
This is a great opportunity for an Embedded AI/ML scientist who is keen to expand their wider commercial and project management experience as an additional training and development budget of £4,000 pa is also provided.

The Project
This will be part of a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP), which is a collaborative project between TG0 and the University of Portsmouth, awarded by Innovate UK.
This partnership spans 30 months and concentrates on improving AI/ML systems embedded in human-machine interactions for smart IoT and rehabilitation devices.
The role involves innovating in AI/ML for low-power devices, striving to develop affordable, AI-powered IoT and rehabilitation devices.

You will be joining a friendly team based at TGO in London.
In the role, you will be actively supported by KTP Advisor, KTP Support team and Academic experts at the University of Portsmouth.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity open to a candidate with
- A PhD degree, preferably in computer science or similar, accompanied by a proven research track record demonstrated through publications.
- Experience in developing prototypes for human-machine interaction.
- Extensive coding and embedded systems development using C and C++.
- Extensive experience in DL/ML development using PyTorch, TensorFlow, and TensorFlow Lite
- Development experience in both contact and non-contact sensing and analysis.
- Engineering experience in integrating multi-modal sensory components.
- Experience in developing AI/ML solutions for IoT applications.
- Knowledge and experience in designing human-machine interaction protocols and adapting technology for rehabilitation applications.
- Strong communication skills.
- Willingness to be part of a multidisciplinary team.
- A desire to understand a wider commercial landscape
- An enthusiastic and self-motivated person with good team-working and communication skills are essential.
The successful applicant will be highly motivated and able to demonstrate some previous successful experience in a relevant role.
Salary: £38,000 per annum plus personal training budget
Fixed-term contract for 30 months
