This is an opportunity for an Associate (NQ level) to join our fast-growing Aviation team in London.
You will be heavily involved in business-critical aviation regulatory matters and high value, complex international aviation disputes. Acting for a diverse aviation client base, the successful candidate will gain direct experience in all aspects of aviation regulatory analysis and resolution, disputes avoidance, management and resolution of high quality highly complex disputes.
The role will be based in our London office but may require travel to our other offices from time to time.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Candidates will have a broad diet of work, which will include, but not be limited to:
- Advising airlines, lessors, manufacturers, airports and other aviation stakeholders across a wide range of business-critical international and domestic regulatory matters.
- Drafting ACMI, charter, cargo, airport slot exchange and other commercial agreements.
- Representing airlines, manufacturers, aviation service providers and (re)insurers in the defence of claims arising out of incidents and accidents globally.
- Supporting on complex commercial litigation on behalf of airlines, reinsurers and other aviation service providers in the English Commercial Court, and worldwide
- Advising on and representing aviation clients and/or their insurers in inquests, criminal investigations and public enquiries arising out of serious incidents, accidents and manufacturing issues.
ABOUT YOU
New qualified candidates with an enthusiasm for aviation will ideally have all or most of the following experience:
- Litigation experience gained in a leading City firm (or one of their international offices)
- Experience within aviation is preferable; interest in aviation is essential.
- Have experience and interest working across both contentious and non-contentious matters
- Have experience of supporting a broad, cross-border client base
- Drafting documents using a commercial, client focussed style
- Complying with professional standards and all relevant regulatory obligations
- Understanding how to best utilise information and research resources
- Commercially astute and stays current on key legal and business news
- Eager to support on business and practice development matters to help grow and support the team
- Excellent skills in communication, client relations, and team-working.
