We are looking for an experienced senior hire to help digitise defence with new thinking on technology capabilities and adoption processes, and someone who is sensitively able to combine the latest thinking with traditional military functions.

You will guide our clients through their cloud journey from strategy through to a working and breathing environment supporting their most critical services. You will help to build robust and scalable cloud platforms that enable teams to deliver modern micro-services based and digital solutions and continuously improve environments through automation and infrastructure-as-code.
You will focus on helping our clients design and implement modern, agile Cloud environments. Responsibilities will include delivering across a broad range of activities from technical and solution architecture design to operations, prototyping, developing and testing (depending on the size of the project and the client needs).
You will be collaborating with cloud thought leaders across disciplines to innovate together contributing to RFP responses and other business development activities and building lasting relationships with clients and colleagues.

- Strong ability to provide thought-through, clearly articulated, pragmatic solutions and recommendations to complex business problems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work load, meet project deadlines, and drive results
- Ability to communicate complex / technical issues to non-technical audiences
- Management of teams and deliverables
- Vendor/product assessment and selection
- Assessment of applications for technical suitability for migration to Cloud
We are looking for Candidates with skills and experience in one of the following areas:
Cloud Architecture & Engineering
- Cloud technologies and services (AWS / Azure / Google Cloud Platform)
- Container technologies (e.g. Docker, Rocket) and their associated orchestration engines (Kubernetes / OpenShift / Rancher / Swarm)
- Infrastructure as code development (Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, ARM, GCP CDM)
- Running and using Cloud automation tooling including Continuous Integration & Deployment
- DevOps philosophies and toolchains such as continuous integration and delivery
- Linux and windows system implementation and management using automation frame works such as Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet, PowerShell etc.
- Application deployment and testing tool chains such as Jenkins, SVN, GitHub
- Knowledge of security and performance considerations and approaches for digital systems, and exposure to security and performance testing process
- Experience helping clients define technical and non-functional requirements
- Cloud environment design and implementation
Cloud Consulting
- Helping clients navigate the end to end journey for cloud infrastructure and engineering, including:
- Defining and delivering a Cloud Strategy and Operating Model that aligns to and underpins business, technology and/or digital strategies
- Developing the Business Case for investment in cloud
- Selecting the right products and services for a solution
- Leading stand up meetings
- Architecting and delivering on the platform
- Understanding the leading cloud technologies and the key cloud challenges
- Providing an authoritative point of view on how cloud influences and enables emerging technology trends
- Growing relationships, experience, practice and maintaining our position as market leaders with key integration vendors such as AWS, Azure and Google Cloud Platform
- Working effectively in diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
Tech Author
- Transcribing Architectural information into Technical Documents suitable for Engineering and Development Areas to utilise for development, support and maintenance of complex Networks
- Development, publication and maintenance of Technical documentation covering the Network on a web Likely requires knowledge of git, markup and similar technologies used in existing decision processes
- Manage a technical decision making process; running a backlog of decisions, helping neutrally frame difficult/contentious topics
- Organising set-pieces, and ensuring accurate record keeping
