Job description: AXA Partners have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Finance Analyst to join our vibrant accounting team. The UK/Ireland geography operates through different legal entities and you’ll support the Technical Accounting team in managing the revenue and technical accounting for approximately 300 different schemes and contracts.

Most of the Travel contracts managed in the UK and Ireland are international contracts booked in a variety of different currencies and operated either directly or through numerous reinsurance programs and fronting agreements. As a result, the role will have a significant focus on reinsurance accounting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform Technical accounting processes including compiling accrual and deferral schedules, posting provision and adjustment journals, and performing controls so as to support the accurate accounting and reporting of the International Travel portfolio

· Support in the production of quarterly reports and in-depth variance analysis.

· Support Client Performance Tracking analysis to Commercial, Client Management and Underwriting teams across multiple Regions

Performance of internal control tasks:

· Completion of balance sheet reconciliations, including working closely with different AXA IC/IG Partners to agree Inter-Company Balances; and resolve historic discrepancies.

· Data reconciliations

Validating all accounting flows as part of new contracts implementation process and ensure they are properly set up; preparing monthly cash flow forecasting for technical related items; ensure the technical balance sheet reconciliations are accurately and regularly prepared.

Support in producing full P&L Regional analysis of IPA SA result and communicating to Regional Finance Business Partners.

Support Technical Accounting team’s work on other topics such as Car Trawler Car Hire Excess contracts; international IPT submissions and reconciliations; reinsurance accounting and cession statements. Work collaboratively with a Finance Analyst who also reports to the Technical Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

  • Experienced in insurance and reinsurance accounting.
  • Qualified Accountant or Part-Qualified (Finalist) / Qualified by experience
  • Excellent interpersonal and team working skills with a helpful, flexible, pro-active and solution oriented approach / Someone with a positive approach and the ability to engage and inspire others
  • Evidence of being able to work successfully in a fast moving international environment
  • Someone eager to progress and develop within a supportive environment.
  • Experience with PeopleSoft system desirable
  • French speaker desirable but not essential
