Ex Ordo is a growing technology business in the scientific, academic & research space. We create streamlined, effective tools & services to tackle some of the biggest challenges in scholarly event workflow.
Some of the world’s smartest people still use outdated software every time they participate in a scholarly conference. We want to change this. We help scholarly societies engage with their communities through a seamless events experience via our platform. Our customers include the likes of the American Marketing Association and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers.

The pandemic changed the way we work but not who we are. We have repositioned our company, culture, and processes to function in a remote context and the Galway office is still our home.
About the role
Following an exciting period of continued growth we’re hiring a Sales Development Representative to join our Sales team, reporting into the Chief Revenue Officer.
We need a focused and ambitious sales person who is motivated by owning a lead qualifications target and driving forward pipeline growth.
You will:
Own an outreach and lead referral target, successfully sourcing, contacting and qualifying deals to achieve it.
Engage, educate and develop leads into opportunities through prospecting via phone calls, emails, events, webinars, and assorted campaigns.
Qualify leads per defined criteria, and handoff to the appropriate Sales colleague once an SQL is achieved.
Use a forward-looking, structured approach to pipeline management, including identifying decision-makers, champions and roadblocks for deals in advance. Develop and maintain a deep understanding of our market, competitors and solutions.
Use provided resources on Ideal Customer Profiles, Customer Journey, USPs and more to enhance your selling approach
Collaborate and work with different members of the wider team to improve our outcomes, specifically around outbound tactics (Marketing, Product, Technical Support, Customer Success Managers, Leadership, etc.)
Represent the company at industry Trade Shows and marketing events from time to time (either in person or virtually as need arises).
Use the company CRM System to document all customer activity
Continue to grow competencies and expertise in role related to everything related to outbound lead generation
Other commercial duties may be assigned from time to time in line with the changing needs of the business
Skills and Experience

Required:
A demonstrated ability to prospect for and qualify deals up to 6 figures
Proven track record of hitting a high-volume prospecting, lead referral or sales target including specified number of e.g. emails, calls, organisations
Minimum of 1 years experience as Sales Development Representative/Account Executive/BDE or similar quota-carrying, outbound role.
Experience web-based products or services (SaaS or workflow services preferred)
Action-oriented self starter motivated by owning a sales target
Experience using value & solution selling techniques and pipeline management approaches like MEDDPIC
Ability to quickly understand and demonstrate technology and business value propositions.
Strong presentation and communication skills with proven ability to self-organise and manage multiple parallel priorities.
Ability to operate as a team player and communicate in a timely, clear and appropriate way with others.
Growth mindset and open to collaboration to help us achieve organisation-level goals and targets.
Ability to travel on occasion for trade shows
Desirable:
Experience selling software in the scientific, academic and research enterprise space, ideally to scholarly societies and associations.
An understanding of the scholarly space including, tools & services used, pain points, hot topics and dynamics.
Formal sales methodology training e.g. Miller Heiman, MEDDIC, MEDDPICC, Sandler, SCOTSMAN, BANT technique
Salary
OTE 35k plus Benefits
Full Time Fixed term contract – 10 months
