Job Description
The Department of History and Philosophy of Science (HPS) are seeking to recruit to this key position within the administration of the Faculty of Human, Social and Political Science (HSPS). The successful candidate will join a vibrant and exciting department in a key role as the lead administrator. Working closely with the Head of Department (HPS) and the Head of Departmental Management (HSPS), the post-holder will oversee all aspects of Departmental management, including finances, human resources, estates, communications and planning. They will advise on matters of strategy, policy, planning and implementation across all areas of work including research, teaching, governance and strategy.
Applicants must be able to demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of teaching and research in a higher education environment, knowledge of the UK University system and the skill and commitment to uphold the Department’s standards of excellence both internally and externally. They will also have excellent written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to synthesise and present complex policies clearly and an ability to work and communicate effectively and appropriately with a wide range of staff and students.
