Job title: Category Officer, hybrid working

Job description: We are currently recruiting for Category Officers, Category Managers and Buyers with Public Sector experience, on behalf of a Government Organisation based in Northern Ireland.
All roles are hybrid – 1 or 2 days in the office and remainder remote, the client is based in Norther Ireland, with an initial contract duration of 6 months and high likelihood of extension.
As Category Manager, you will:
– take ownership of assigned categories, influence on strategy direction and delivering category benefits
– facilitate the delivery of contractual arrangements and supporting structures required to deliver results
– capture future demand information and continually review changes in the marketplace and industry to reflect these changes within an adapting category strategy
As Category Officer you will:
– work with Category Manager to provide advice and guidance to clients on procurement and procurement related matters
– develop commercial tender and contract documentation in line with public procurement policy and best practice
– implement and manage procurement to deliver Value for Money solutions
As Buyer, you will:
– buy food for schools along with catering equipment
– work with with dynamic purchasing system providing advice and guidance on public procurement policies
– develop commercial tender and contract documentation in line with pub-lic procurement policy and best practice
Skills and experience required include:
– previous experience working for the Public Sector
– Public Sector Procurement knowledge
– relevant Procurement qualifications or working towards or equivalent experience
