Brook Street UK Ltd are looking for a Warehouse Operator is responsible for various tasks related to the efficient and organised operation of a warehouse. The specific duties can vary depending on the type of warehouse and industry, but here are some common responsibilities associated with a Warehouse Operator job:
Inventory Management:
- Receiving, unpacking, and inspecting incoming goods.
- Recording and documenting received items.
- Organising and maintaining inventory within the warehouse.
Order Picking and Packing:
- Selecting items from the inventory based on order requirements.
- Packing items securely for shipping.
- Creating shipping labels and preparing packages for dispatch.
Quality Control:
- Inspecting products for defects or damages.
- Ensuring that products meet quality standards before shipping.
Operate Warehouse Equipment:
- Using forklifts, pallet jacks, and other equipment to move and transport goods.
- Safely operating machinery and following proper procedures.
Data Entry:
- Entering data into computer systems to update inventory records.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in the warehouse management system.
Maintaining Cleanliness and Safety:
- Keeping the warehouse clean and organised.
- Adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
Communication:
- Communicating with other warehouse staff, supervisors, and sometimes with vendors or customers.
Problem Solving:
- Addressing issues related to inventory discrepancies, damaged goods, or other challenges that may arise in the warehouse.
Teamwork:
- Collaborating with colleagues to ensure smooth warehouse operations.
- Assisting in other areas when needed.
Adhering to Policies and Procedures:
- Following company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to warehouse operations.
To be successful in a Warehouse Operator role, candidates should typically have good physical stamina, attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Additionally, knowledge of safety regulations and the ability to operate warehouse equipment may be required.
Hours are 8am-5pm.
