Job description: About the role

We are currently recruiting for Production Operative at our Kerry Glasgow site located in Hillington, Glasgow.

In the site, our Team of 80 colleagues manufacture seasoning blends, herbs, spices and other related products for the food service industry.

The position of Production Operative is for full-time, permanent contract. It is for Monday to Friday, usually 07.30-16.00, but some flexibility is required. There is also an early finish on Friday.

As Production Operative, you will support production line, operate production machinery, and take care of the work area. You will also work closely with the Warehouse Team. Full training will be provided.

What will you be doing?

Your responsibilities as Production Operative will include:

  • Operating mixing and packaging machinery and equipment.
  • Lifting and stacking raw materials and products.
  • Working with the Warehouse to coordinate move of the materials and products and managing stock.
  • Ensuring equipment and production/warehouse areas are kept clean and tidy to the expected standard of hygiene and tidiness.
  • Following hygiene standards.
  • Ensuring all paperwork and SAP system is updated.
  • Following Health & Safety policies and procedures.
  • Communicating issues to Team Leader or Manager.
  • Carrying out quality assurance checks on products to ensure that they meet specified standards and rising any issues the earliest possible point of the production.

What do you need to be successful?

  • Good communication skills
  • Basic IT skills
  • Ability to work well in a team and individually
  • Forklift license and experience
  • Attention to details
  • Previous experience of working in a Food Manufacturer or a knowledge of SAP would be an advantage
